I have quite a few patches of Oregon Green Moss growing in the soil of my backyard. Later into the winter it builds up big mounds. Grows during the winter. I noticed a huge difference in how it grows in reaction to water. The more moist areas have more lush, brighter green moss with more flaring of foliage. Oregon Green Moss growing on the ground with little water... Oregon Green Moss growing on the ground with more water... This is a very common moss. I see it growing all over the trees in forests around here, but it has a different growth pattern. It has longer fibers and hangs down quite a bit more, plus it is more dry. I may take a few more pictures of it in local forests and update this thread in the near future. Anyone else have pics of Oregon Green Moss or something similar?
